followed an upset Lucy around the hospital and finally locked her in the
broom closet with him. He tried to find out why she was so upset, and she
told him that she was tired of defending her happiness. She wanted everyone
to know that she had a good life. Kevin agreed that her life was
pretty close to perfect since she had a child and friends and a man who
loved her beyond reason. To that end, he proposed that they make their
lives even more perfect by getting married. Lucy was stunned by his proposal,
but feared that he was making it out of pity. He told her that he hated
hearing that she was going home without him when he wanted her to be going home with him. Comforted, Lucy said that she loved him, but she wasn't sure that marriage would work for them since they had tried to do it before and failed. He reminded her of everything they had been through and said that no love could possibly be stronger than theirs. Lucy agreed and tearfully declared that she would marry him. (Sept 7, 2001 ) |
